One thing I’ve known for a very long time is that people’s responses to the idea of physical-things-have-a-new-value-in-a-digital-age is usually one of either (or both) bemusement or indifference. It’s either radical – “what do you mean, physical?” or obvious, “well, of course. So what?”
Another thing I’ve learned from (bitter) experience is that explaining physicality is much, much harder than demonstrating it.
So, against my better judgement – which would have meant researching whether an appetite for CONTAINER actually existed – I’ve decided to just do it and see what happens.
The only way to really explain what CONTAINER is – and all my talk of it being a magazine is frankly not helping – is to create one. So, edition #1 is an experiment. If it goes well (if I sell all of them and cover the costs of production), there’ll be more.
I really hope so.
